As we move forward and begin to work and play at Huss School, many of the needs will be for tangible materials. The school is currently winterized so there's no running water and we don't ever plan to turn on the expensive, obsolete heating system, which creates unique needs for hospitality to visitors. As we think about equipping a comfortable room for work groups, we've come up with a list of items we could use to make the space hospitable:
There are also supplies we could use for general cleaning, maintenance and beautifying work around the facility:
And, for more playful activities:
We also have volunteer interns living in a community house connected to a local church. As individuals come and go, we realize various needs to create a hospitable space for residents and guests. Current needs include:
If you're able to help out with any of these supplies, either through donating the items themselves, gift cards or cash donations, please contact us! If you have any other ideas for ways to make our Three Rivers spaces a little more comfortable, feel free to add them below.
I sent a note about some books you guys might want, then I found this donation site that might be more appropriate, so I will mention it here: The monastery recently received some used books (mostly good condition) that we do not need. If you guys would like to have them, get back to me and we can set up a time for you guys to sift through them and haul any away that you want - Br. Abraham
(If you already got the other message, ignore this one - I was simply unsure as to where to leave the message.)
Thanks, Br. Abraham! We'll definitely be contacting you about the books.
