Core Community

At the heart of *culture is not optional is an intentional community, a small group of folks comprised of several households that seek to contribute to the flourishing of our city. Our core community has ebbed and flowed over the years; we currently have four members. We’re joined by college students and recent college graduates participating in our 10-week Internship Program in the summer and other volunteers join us for various stints of time throughout the year. We also have a Yearlong Residency program for those interested in a longer stay. And, of course, we’re always looking for folks who would like to join our core community to commit to our collective work for the long haul.
